A beloved British pub shuttered in 2021 will spring back to life at 2832 Beach Blvd. S. The new Moon Under Water plans to welcome guests in early 2026, boasting twice its former space.
Mike Crippin, who ran the kitchen at the original spot, joins forces with his wife Alison and Grand Central Brewhouse's Kevin and Jeanne Milkey in this fresh start. Kevin Milkey said, according to St. Pete Rising, "We love Gulfport. We initially looked in St. Pete, in the EDGE District and Grand Central District. But nothing felt quite right until the opportunity in Gulfport came along."
The sprawling 5,000-square-foot space splits into distinct zones. Guests can pick between two bars, a main dining section, and an outdoor courtyard that fits 100 patrons. Up front, a classic pub beckons with its long bar and plush seats. The back transforms into a gin-focused bar with London flair.
Sports fans won't miss a play with 20 screens spread across the venue. NFL action, soccer matches, and local games will light up screens inside and out. Musicians will take to two stages — one indoors, another outside — bringing weekend tunes to life.
The kitchen keeps old favorites while adding fresh twists. Diners can still get their fish and chips fix, along with shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, and curry dishes. New additions target late-night workers, plus those seeking vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free meals.
Welsh transplants Alan and Suzanne Lucas started it all in 1997, opening at 332 Beach Drive NE. Their two-decade run ended when Caledon Concepts bought the spot in 2019.
At the bar, pints of British and Irish brews will flow alongside Grand Central Brewhouse craft beers. A carefully picked selection of scotch, bourbon, Irish whiskey, and gin awaits spirit lovers. Doors stay open until midnight daily, with weekend brunches adding morning options.
Original signs and decor from Beach Drive will find new homes here, keeping memories alive. Construction starts where The Drunken Taco recently closed its doors.
