South Tampa's fancy dining scene is about to see a big change as Haven restaurant announces plans to completely tear down and rebuild. This bold step means big changes are coming to the popular SoHo district spot.
The current building features a cozy 25-seat bar, huge 2,500-bottle wine room, and a special cheese cave. Wine lovers can choose from 550 different wines from around the world, with 40 available by the glass.
In the kitchen, James Beard-nominated chef Chad Johnson works with Chef de Cuisine Gerry Sizemore. They're known for their amazing charcuterie boards and an incredible selection of more than 100 cheeses.
Bourbon lovers come for the bar's impressive collection of 300 different types. The outdoor seating area along Howard Avenue adds some nice street energy to the place.
The restaurant hasn't shared much about what the new building will look like, when it'll be done, or how much it'll cost. This project is one of several changes happening throughout South Tampa.
This big change could really shake up SoHo's restaurant scene. The place stays busy with both after-work crowds and regular customers.
While they haven't said when construction starts or what'll happen with the staff, it's business as usual for now during planning.
