Fruit Float Cafe launched a storefront at 13050 Gulf Blvd on Madeira Beach this fall. It started as boats that delivered fresh fruit and coconuts to people out on the water. The first boat hit the waves in 2023.
Smoothies, açaí bowls, gourmet toasts, coconut waters, and lattes fill the menu. You can grab fresh-cut fruit, young Florida coconuts, or try the pecan brown sugar latte with cold foam.
Hannah Nygren owns the business. She's the fourth generation in her family to run a small business in Pinellas County. The boats still float around serving customers while the shop on land stays busy.
The Roseate Spoonbill toast features caper cream cheese, heirloom tomatoes, flaky sea salt, microgreens, and extra virgin olive oil. The menu changes with the seasons.
Right now you'll find pumpkin pie and apple cider options. Christmas blends arrive in a few weeks.
The boats cruise the Gulf and deliver fruit slices to anchored vessels. This means the company reaches customers whether they're on shore or out on the water.
The cafe opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. every day. The shop brings what they call "boat-day vibes" onto dry ground.
The whole thing began when someone decided to sell pineapple and watermelon from a boat to beach-goers and boaters. That idea caught on. Two years passed, and now there's a building with walls and a door.
You can stop by the storefront or call the boat crew when you're anchored out in the Gulf. The website has the full menu and details about boat service.
