Temple Terrace will soon welcome three new burger spots. Culver's, Cook Out, and Haddaburger are coming to town.

The City Council will review site plans on Jan. 6 for Culver's newest spot at 5880 E. Fowler Ave., right across from Florida Orthopedic. This chain will take over the old Wells Fargo bank building, marking its first appearance in the city.

The planned restaurant spans 4,400 square feet and includes a drive-thru window. You can find other Culver's locations on North Nebraska Avenue in North Tampa, plus Carrollwood and Brandon.

Culver's started back in 1984 in Wisconsin as Culver's Frozen Custard and Butter Burgers. The chain has built its reputation on smash burgers served on buttered buns, cheese curds, fried fish, and custard.

This council hearing requires just one reading. Why? The approval won't need any zoning amendment, says Greg Pauley, who directs Community Development for the city, according to the Tampa Beacon.com.

Cook Out has fenced off its construction site and begun work at 56th Street and East Fowler Avenue. The North Carolina chain is moving into the old Boston Market building, which has sat vacant since 2023.

This spot serves chargrilled hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and shakes.

Haddaburger plans to serve halal smash burgers at 8932 Bertha Palmer Blvd., taking over Abbott's Custard's old space in the Fountain Shoppes of Temple Terrace. New owners now run the shopping center.

Haddaburger will fit about 24 guests and keep things simple with its menu. Burgers come with toppings like bacon, onions, and jalapenos smashed right into the meat. Shakes and cheese sticks will join the lineup, along with fries.

Every item on the menu will be halal certified.
