Moe's Original BBQ opened its first Pinellas County spot at Bardmoor Promenade, 10801 Starkey Road in Seminole. This marks the Alabama-style barbecue chain's Tampa Bay debut.
Brian and Janeen Fairhurst own the place with their children, Kamari and Tobias. Brian worked more than 20 years with the chain. He started in the kitchen and managed several spots throughout North Carolina before the move to Florida.
"This has been a dream come true for our family," Brian Fairhurst said, per I Love the Burg.com. "We're excited to bring Moe's to the Tampa Bay community, sharing our Southern hospitality and our favorite homemade dishes. Because Moe's is not just about great barbecue, it's about bringing people together."
The fast casual restaurant smokes all meats in-house over oak and fruit woods. Staff make everything from scratch daily.
Diners can order slow-cooked pulled pork sandwiches, St. Louis-style ribs, smoked wings, and platters piled with smoked meats. Haul-It-Home takeout meals offer party packs for groups. Nachos and sandwiches appear on the menu along with rotating local specials that change by season.
House-made options include fresh-baked jalapeno cornbread, banana pudding, baked beans, coleslaw, and mac and cheese. A full bar pours beer and whiskey to complement the food.
Customers can dine in or take out. Online ordering works through the website. Third-party delivery is available. Catering serves larger events. TVs throughout the space broadcast local sports, creating an atmosphere that mixes sports bar with family-friendly dining.
The Fairhurst family raised their kids in restaurants before opening this spot in a town they call home. They want to bring people together in a welcoming space.
