Pete's Bagels opened a new shop Wednesday at 810 Dodecanese Blvd. along the downtown Tarpon Springs waterfront. This marks the brand's first spot in the area.
The business announced its opening on social media. "We are honored, grateful, and sooo excited to be open in Tarpon Springs," the company wrote, according to I Love The Burg.
Steven and Sara Peterman, a husband-and-wife team, founded this business back in 2019. The pair spent a decade in New York before returning to Florida with bagels on their minds. They've since built a presence across St. Pete and Tampa after outgrowing their first spot.
The new site has two floors with outdoor seating that sits right on the water. Customers can watch manatees glide below. Seagulls circle above. The building houses a general store stocked with Tarpon merchandise and offers a full menu.
Look Alive Coffee flows here alongside menu items. Fresh bagels get made each day. They sell out fast at other spots.
"Not only is this the most beautiful building in the most beautiful setting, but this was such a community effort," the company wrote.
This Tarpon Springs spot represents another step for the local brand that has grown since starting five years ago. Each Saturday morning, lines snake outside the St. Pete location as customers wait to place orders.
Menu items include options like the Salty Pete and the Sunny Pete. The waterfront setting lets diners eat dockside while watching wildlife pass by.
