Popular St. Pete Taco Spot Launches Build-Your-Own Margarita Menu and Cali-Mex Street Food

Red Mesa Cantina rolled out a "Mercado's Most Wanted" menu this spring. Cali-Mex street food now graces tables at the downtown St. Petersburg spot. Diners can build their own margaritas, too.

Three items debuted from Red Mesa Mercado — the fast-casual cousin in the EDGE District and West St. Pete. More arrivals are slated for April and May as the Cantina weaves Mercado favorites into its offerings.

Puffy Tacos hit the menu first. These house-made tortillas get fried until they puff into crunchy shells, then stuffed with ground beef, cheddar jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and crema.

The Cali Burrito wraps everything you'd want inside a house-made flour tortilla: ground beef, refried beans, cheddar jack cheese, guacamole, crema, pico de gallo, and — here's the twist — crispy fries tucked right in.

Chipotle Chicken Burrito rounds out the trio that has launched so far.

Want to tinker with your drink? The margarita menu walks you through three steps. Pick your fruit juice. Choose a specialty rim. Toss in add-ons if you're feeling adventurous.

Mocktails joined the lineup as well — Dragonfruit Lemonade, Blackberry Basil, Mango Breeze — all crafted for those skipping alcohol but craving flavor.

According to I Love the Burg.com, Red Mesa Cantina houses one of Florida's biggest tequila libraries. The downtown spot pairs outdoor courtyard seating with indoor space, giving diners options depending on mood or weather.

All three Red Mesa concepts call St. Pete home. Mercado locations sling fast-casual Cali-Mex street food, while the Cantina serves those same bites in a sit-down atmosphere.
